Simply because of the essence of time to travel through the whole galaxy in 80 days, I chose to leave Toolong, Wangkali, and travelled to the next planet capital on my list: Danghai, Gootong.
The second I stepped foot on the planet, I knew tomorrow I'd be spending a lot of time sightseeing. Danghai was beautiful! Everything in it seemed to be transparent, and for a second, I thought I had died and gone to Heaven. Until I accidentally ran into a fake potted plant, knocking its contents and me everywhere. With as transparent as everything seems, it's not all glass, as I had first suspected. Of course, I did ruin the plant and I had to pay 5 Gootongies (about 2 pounds) for the damage I had done.
After the embarrassing escapade of being escorted out by security, I quickly found a nice hotel that cost only 15 Gootongies (about 7.5 pounds) and it was the biggest room in the hotel. The suite, I should say. Since it was only dinnertime when I arrived and finding myself extremely hungry, I took leave of the room cautiously and found a nice little cafe just around the corner that reminded me of the Coffee Bar. Of course, I wanted to feel as much at home as possible since this was going to be a little more than an overnight stay.
I ordered a small sandwich called "stir fried doofeas and nekcihc," and a small order of coffee with a slice of cream cake and marshmallows. It was very good especially since it cost about the same as the broken potted plant from before.
Since I was so eager to look around, I gobbled down my sandwich and cake as fast as I could and started walking toward the busy part of town. The sky was beautiful at this time of day, with the purple, pink and yellow hues with the stars starting to poke their faces into the dark blue sky on the other side of the purple. The way it reflected off of all the transparent-ness of everything made it seem like I was walking on the sky right next to the stars!
Without even looking for it, I ran into the capitol building. I figured since I was here and it was still open, I should travel through tonight so I have more time to do other things tomorrow. The second I walked through the doors, my 20 Gootongies (8 pounds) was not spent unwisely. The transparency of the domed roof and the reflection of the sky off of everything made it that much more exciting to be there. I had a lot of fun learning about the history of Gootong, and especially Danghai.
Being extremely exhausted and spending a little over my budget for the day, I went back to my hotel room to get some shut eye before starting the next day's adventures.
